Glen Doty is currently a retired Captain with a California Fire Department, and has been in the fire service for 30 years. During that time, he has responded to hundreds of medical calls. Lift-assist calls are becoming more common due to the growing population affected by the obesity epidemic in the U.S.
The idea for the Lift Assist Harness came about when Doty was on an emergency call. His crew needed to lift a woman from the ground to her wheelchair. The crew could not get into a safe position to make the lift without possibly injuring the patient. They finally managed to get her into the wheelchair safely, but it was very difficult. Doty realized that they needed an easier and safer way to lift patients, and the idea of the DotyBelt was born.
So Doty spent the last two years, and countless hours, designing and developing prototypes that could handle patient lifts in many different situations.
His goal was to make a belt that was easy-to-use, affordable and durable. The DotyBelt/Lift Assist Harness has been tested to UL standards for lift safety harnesses and the stitching has been tensile tested up to 1700 lbs. Why test so high? He wanted first responders and caregivers to know that when they go to lift a patient or a family member, they can use the DotyBelt with confidence. His hope is that the Doty Belt/Lift Assist Harness helps as many people as possible.
Our Demo Policy
1. Introduction
At Doty Belt LLC, we are dedicated to delivering an exceptional product experience to our valued customers. This Demo Belt Usage Policy establishes the guidelines governing the use, maintenance, and return of our demo belts.
2. Purpose and Eligibility
2.0. Qualifying Fire Departments, EMS, Home Healthcare Services, Senior living facilities, Business with more than 10 employees.
Demo Belts are NOT and do not qualify for Free with potential customers of one single belt. Proof of a City, County, Corporation, Small Business, NON Profit or Volunteer entity must be provided before a Demo belt will be sent.
2.1. Purpose: Demo belts are made available exclusively for the purpose of enabling potential customers to assess and experience our products firsthand.
2.2. Eligibility: Demo belts may be requested by authorized distributors, retailers, and potential customers who wish to evaluate our offerings.
2.3. Usage Restrictions: It is imperative to note that demo belts are strictly intended for product demonstrations. They must not be employed for personal use, worn, or resold under any circumstances.
3. Care and Maintenance
3.1. Responsibility: Users are entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining and caring for the demo belt throughout the evaluation period.
3.2. Precautions: Handle the demo belt with the utmost care to prevent any damage. Guard against exposure to extreme temperatures, liquids, or any situation that may jeopardize the condition of the belt.
3.3. Return Condition: The demo belt must be returned in the same condition as received, accounting for reasonable wear and tear.
4. Demo Belt Return
4.1. Return Deadline: The demo belt should be returned to Doty Belt LLC within 30 days from the date of receipt.
4.2. Return Shipping: The cost associated with returning the demo belt is the sole responsibility of the recipient.
4.3. Return Address: Please refer to the address provided for the return of the demo belt.
5. Damaged or Lost Demo Belts
5.1. Responsibility: Users assume full responsibility for any damage or loss incurred during the evaluation period.
5.2. Charges: In the event the demo belt is returned in a damaged or non-reusable condition, the user may incur charges for the cost of repair or replacement.
6. Feedback
6.1. Feedback Submission: We strongly encourage users to provide feedback regarding the demo belt’s performance, quality, and suggestions for enhancements.
7. Enforcement
7.1. Non-Compliance: Deviation from compliance with this Demo Belt Usage Policy may lead to the suspension of future demo belt requests or other appropriate actions.
